The Nordic Air Ambulance Conference (NAAC) aims to become a key forum for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and development across national borders.

The main theme will be “Preparedness Beyond Borders.”

The conference will take place on 2–3 June 2027 and is aimed at professionals working in air ambulance services and prehospital emergency medicine across the Nordic countries.

Bringing together the full breadth of the professional community

NAAC 2027 will bring together a wide range of participants from across the Nordic professional community – from operational personnel to researchers and decision-makers.

The target audience includes:

  • Air ambulance professionals
  • Emergency physicians and anesthesiologists
  • Specialists in intensive care and critical care transport
  • Researchers
  • Operational leaders and staff
  • Preparedness experts

“Our ambition is to establish a shared Nordic arena where we can exchange experiences, strengthen collaboration, and further develop our services across borders and systems,” says Randi Spørck, CEO of Luftambulansetjenesten HF.

A strong professional program

The conference will place particular emphasis on challenges unique to the Nordic region – including long distances, demanding weather conditions, and the need for close cross-border cooperation.

The scientific program will include keynote lectures, interactive sessions, and  research presentations.

A program committee will be established this autumn and will consist of personnel with research and medical expertise from the air ambulance departments at Norwegian hospitals.

Bodø as host city

The conference will be held in Bodø, a city that offers a strong professional setting combined with unique natural experiences. Efforts are being made to ensure participants have the opportunity to experience Arctic nature and activities, including a visit to Saltstraumen – the world’s strongest tidal current.
